Terms of Service
Effective date: October 6, 2026
These Terms of Service apply to your use of civiciq.network and Civic IQ resources, including our tools, plugins, instructions, templates, frameworks, and AI-supported workflows. Civic IQ is the publisher and operator of these resources. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use them. Separate written agreements govern any services expressly covered by those agreements.
1. What Civic IQ provides
Civic IQ provides practical frameworks, educational resources, tools, plugins, and AI-supported workflows for nonprofit and organizational work.
These resources support human judgment; they do not make organizational decisions for you. For example, the Civic IQ Grant Funding Scout helps users build funding profiles, identify and evaluate opportunities, organize decision criteria, and prepare reusable reports and workflows. It does not make funding decisions for you or act as a funder.
2. Access, availability and cost
Civic IQ does not charge users to use the Grant Funding Scout plugin. If another Civic IQ resource has a fee or separate service terms, that information will be stated with the resource or in a separate written agreement. Your AI platform, connected services, internet provider, or other providers may have their own fees, account requirements, or usage limits. Those arrangements are between you and the provider.
Current public Civic IQ plugin releases are intended for distribution in the United States. Features depend on the capabilities available in your AI environment. Civic IQ may update, change, or discontinue resources and does not promise uninterrupted availability, a particular response time, or indefinite support for any platform.
3. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the information you provide, the permissions you grant to connected services, and the decisions you make using the resources. If you act for an organization, you must have authority for that activity.
Provide accurate information to the best of your knowledge, correct material errors when discovered, and use the resources lawfully. Do not use them to impersonate others, misrepresent eligibility or qualifications, fabricate evidence, submit deceptive applications, infringe rights, or interfere with systems or other users.
Use an AI platform or connected service only in accordance with its applicable terms and access requirements. These resources are not intended for children under 13.
4. Verify important information
AI-generated results may be incomplete, inaccurate or outdated. Before acting, verify material details with current authoritative sources and obtain clarification where needed.
For funding-related resources, deadlines, eligibility rules, award amounts and application requirements can change. Fit ratings and priority recommendations are decision aids, not probabilities of success or assurances of eligibility. Civic IQ does not guarantee that an opportunity will remain open, that an application will qualify, or that you will receive funding.
The resources do not replace qualified legal, accounting, tax or other professional advice when that advice is needed.
5. Automation and external actions
Installing a Civic IQ plugin does not automatically start recurring searches, send emails, monitor deadlines, submit applications, or take other external actions. Those actions require suitable platform capabilities, any required connections, and explicit setup or authorization.
You are responsible for confirming that a schedule or action has actually been configured and for monitoring important deadlines. Do not rely on an unconfirmed automation to protect an application deadline.
6. Your information and work
You retain any rights you have in your organizational documents, funding priorities and other materials you provide. You are responsible for having permission to use them and for deciding what to share with AI platforms and connected services.
Civic IQ does not claim ownership of your organizational work merely because you used a Civic IQ resource. Rights in AI-generated outputs may also be affected by applicable law, third-party materials, and the terms of the AI platform used to create them.
You may preserve and reuse your funding profiles, decision rules and other organizational work across your own workflows and AI environments, subject to those applicable rights and terms.
7. Civic IQ materials and attribution
Unless a resource states different terms, you may use Civic IQ-provided instructions, templates and frameworks and adapt them for your own organizational work. This permission does not authorize use of Civic IQ's name or logo in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or official status for your modified version.
Do not claim that you created unmodified Civic IQ materials. Separate licenses or notices apply to third-party resources. Contact Civic IQ to discuss redistribution, resale or uses outside the permission above.
8. Privacy and third-party services
Our Privacy Policy explains Civic IQ's information practices. Civic IQ receives information you voluntarily share with us. Current skills-only Civic IQ tools, including the Grant Funding Scout, do not automatically send your conversations or documents to Civic IQ.
AI platforms, funder websites and connected services are operated by third parties. Their terms, privacy practices and availability apply independently. Linking to a funder or resource does not guarantee its accuracy or imply endorsement.
9. Resource limitations
Civic IQ provides these resources on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Civic IQ does not warrant that the resources or outputs will be error-free, complete, continuously available, or suitable for every intended use.
You remain responsible for reviewing outputs and deciding whether and how to use them. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Changes
We may update these terms as resources evolve. We will post the current terms on this page and update the effective date. Review them when using updated resources. Changes do not retroactively alter separate written agreements.
